Dental Crown

Dental crown is an artificial replacement that restores missing tooth structure by surrounding part or all of the remaining structure with a material such as cast metal, porcelain, or a combination of materials such as metal and porcelain. Coverage of the tooth with a crown protects the tooth from occlusal or biting forces, while bringing the tooth back to full form and function. A crown can also improve esthetics of a compromised tooth. The most common forms of crowns fabricated today are a full gold crown (FGC), porcelain fused to metal crown (PFM), and all porcelain crown.
